2009…

2009 is the year when pearltrees will go live!

For us, it first means we will open up pearltrees to all Web users. Our tiny editor community will not be private anymore. Everybody will be able to build pearltrees, to share them, to publish them on sites, blogs, forums… In one word, to use them as Web editions.

It will be time also to invite our friends, workmates, family. I do not doubt it will bring us great moments of discovery. Above all, I believe it will bring us the first benefits of a human-edited Web : joy, excitement, discovery and a first taste of media democraty.

That is my wishes for you all for 2009: a year full of joy, excitement, discoveries and great pearltrees!

How to master pearltrees ?

Pearltrees is full of surprise, full of unknown functionalities. How do you want to master pearltrees ?

A couple of friends often ask me “how to rename a pearl?”, “how to send a tree to someone else?”. Indeed there are many ways to discover pearltrees and I was wondering what is the best way to learn how to master pearltrees.

Why don’t we create a set of very short videos (about 10 seconds each) ? Each video showing a functionality. Thus each user is able to learn step by step. Watch the video then try by yourself.

What do you think about it ? What in your opinion should be the best way to learn pearltrees ?

What do you think of our new trees ?

Now that elevation is “on line”, you might have noticed some changes on how “trees” are designed. I would like to have your opinion about this design.

1. Do you clearly see where a “tree” begins and where it ends ?

2. Have you noticed that a “tree” can be put at the following of a tree or inside a tree? Is that clear enough?

3. Do you understand the meaning of the pearl that “ends” a pearltree?
