We do want an outstanding brand !

Marty Neumeier defines a brand as a « person’s gut feeling about a product, service or organisation ». (http://www.slideshare.net/coolstuff/the-brand-gap)

That is exactly what we wondered last Thursday during a very exciting Broceliand morning session. What do we want people feel on our site?

We want them to feel free to organise their surfs for themselves, for their friends, for the people they are related to, and for everyone. We want to build the « common place » where they will find their links other people and other ideas. We will build the website that reveals the links between people and ideas.

As for the river which shape is rather made through flaws than water particules, the real sense of your navigations is not the sum of sites you’ve seen but the links you make between them.

 

Let’s see how our talk grips with Marty Neumeier’s 5 disciplines to build an outstanding brand.

1)    Discipline 1 : Differenciate

a.    Who are you? The websurf company

b.    What do we do? We reveals crossings between people and ideas

c.    Why does it matter? People need others to build themselves

 

2)    Discipline 2 : collaborate

We work as an integrated team to optimize the best of our specialty: strategy, marketing, R&D, IT and finance. But we do this in order to integrate a community of weblifes that will to share their love of the internet.

 

3)    Discipline 3: Innovate

We are working on a stand out name and a stand out design. Today our top candidates for a brand name are : “Weaving”, “voyager”, “Oskar”, “Freebee”, “Aruna”. We are still working on it.

 

4)    Discipline 4: Validate

That is related to rough test we can do with pecked up users. And that’s what we did with the “Retour d’experience” about the joujou 2.2

 

5)    Discipline 5: Cultivate

That point is maybe for later matters.
