Search now available in Pearltrees for iPad
A new version of Pearltrees for iPad is available in the App Store and we’ve updated the application with numerous new features:
Here’s how to use the new search:
Click the magnifying glass in the top right of the display:
You have three search options that will give you different types of results: pearltrees, my account, people
- To search pearltrees on topics that interest you: type the subject you want and click “pearltrees”. The search results offer the best pearltrees for your queries according to their popularity within the community. To discover other pearltrees that are related to your search based upon the interest graph created by our community you can drag the UI to expose more related pearltrees. Drag slowly to deepen your search or swipe the display rapidly to jump quickly to other areas of interest!
- To search in your own account: simply type your query in the search box and then tap “my account”. The results will be limited to your own pearltrees.
- Finally, if you are looking for a particular person, tap the “people” icon after entering his/her name.
In addition to search we have also made several other upgrades that we hope you’ll find useful:
- Invite other collectors to join: tap “invite friends”, from the settings sub-menu (the small gear icon at the upper right corner of the display) and you can send invitations via Facebook, Twitter or e-mail.
- You can also share your favorite pearltrees with others, just press the button that corresponds to your preferred method of sharing in the detail window, and customize your message.
- Improved navigation from the pearler to your own account: you just read a web page in Safari and you would like to see your pearltree on this topic? It is now possible thanks to improvements to the pearler. Just press “Go to one of your pearltrees” at the bottom of pearler and then select where you wish to go.
- Pearltrees now allows you to receive notifications on your iPad when there is activity on your pearltrees: these notifications include picks of your pearltrees, comments, private messages and more.
- To center the pearltree you are currently browsing within the display, simply double tap in any empty area of the display
Have fun pearling!
