What’s a Pearltree?
A pearltree is like a folder that contains pearls. You can open a pearltree to explore the pearls it contains, close it, browse it and even move it into an other pearltree.
Here’s what it looks like when it’s open:
Just click on the small x to close it:
It’s very easy to create a new pearltree: one click on the “new pearltree” button and you have it!
But most of all, a pearltree is a curation. It’s a very useful way to give meanings to your pearls. And with Pearltrees it’s very easy:
- You can start by giving a specific title to your pearltree. You can do so when you create the pearltree and of course, you can change it any time just by clicking on it in the detail window.
The title is a great opportunity to give your visitors the key to understand your pearltree.
- Now you can chose where to put your pearls in the pearltree. By doing so you will give them a special meaning and will guide your visitors through your curation. You read a pearltree from left to right, and from top to down, so you have a lot of possibilities for organizing your pearltree: by topic, by chronologic order, by point of view… it’s your choice!

hey hi ..can anyone tell me how to neatly organise my pearl trees?
Hi Karthik,
Organizing your pearl and pearltrees is very easy : just drag and drop your pearls & pearltrees in the pearltrees you want. You can create a pearltree for each of your interests!
When you have to many pearls or pearltrees within a pearltree, just create sub pearltrees

I lost the (pearl) TREE icon and now I can’t choose where I want to save a pearl. How do I get it back?
Hi Denise,
Which browser do you use?
If you are using Firefox or Chrome, can you please go in its “extensions” menu and check if Pearltrees is installed? If it’s installed, can you please uninstall it and reinstall it from the “pearler” button of Pearltrees interface?
Let me know if everything’s ok after this
Kind regards
Where is the Firefox extensions menu. If I uninstall and reinstall won’t I loose all my current pearls?
I found the extensions menu for Firefox. Pearltrees IS installed.
I am concerned about losing all my current pearl when I uninstall and reinstall.
Thanks.
That’s a good news!
Don’t worry about your pearls, they are safe on Pearltrees servers and are absolutely not affected by your install/uninstall of the pearler
